Day 1 — Hobart to Freycinet: Tasmania’s East Coast Unfolds
Depart Hobart with your private guide and begin your east coast journey through the rolling hills and riverside towns of the Coal River and Prosser valleys. Enjoy a relaxed coffee stop in Orford with views across to Maria Island, then follow the coastline to the fishing town of Bicheno. Stop for lunch at a casual seafood spot or bistro before visiting the famous Bicheno Blowhole. In the afternoon, take a short walk to Cape Tourville Lookout or down to Sleepy Bay. By evening, arrive at your accommodation in Freycinet National Park, set between the Hazards mountain range and the sea.

Day 2 — Freycinet to the Bay of Fires and Launceston
Start the morning with a walk to the Wineglass Bay lookout — a must-do for its sweeping views and great photo opportunities. After some time near the water or back at your lodge, travel north along the coast through St Helens, where you’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant or café. In the afternoon, explore the striking coastline of the Bay of Fires — known for its white sand, clear water, and orange-hued granite boulders. Continue inland through farmland and forest to arrive in Launceston by evening, ready for a quiet dinner or a stroll along the Tamar River.

Day 3 — Launceston to Cradle Mountain: Into the Highlands
After breakfast, begin with a walk through Launceston’s Cataract Gorge, just minutes from the city centre. Then head west towards Cradle Mountain, with a few scenic stops along the way. You’ll arrive in time for an afternoon walk around Dove Lake or the shorter Enchanted Walk — both offering great views and a good introduction to the park. Later, visit Devils@Cradle for an up-close look at Tasmania’s iconic wildlife. The evening is yours to relax by the fire at your accommodation in the national park.

Day 4 — Cradle Mountain to the Central Highlands via Great Lake
Enjoy a quiet morning before heading south through remote high-country terrain. This route takes you through open plains and alpine lakes, with time for a relaxed lunch at the Great Lake Hotel. Your guide will share stories of the region’s early settlers and show you some of the best lookout spots along the way — including a visit to the town of Bothwell, known for its links to Tasmania’s early golfing history. In the afternoon, arrive at your lakeside accommodation for a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 5 — Return to Hobart via Richmond and the Coal River Valley
On your final day, travel back towards Hobart through the fertile Coal River Valley. Stop for coffee in Bothwell or a short break along the way. As you approach the city, enjoy time in Richmond — a historic village with boutique stores, galleries, and Australia’s oldest stone bridge. Depending on your timing, there’s also the option to visit a local winery for a final tasting and relaxed lunch. Your guide will return you to your Hobart accommodation or the airport in the afternoon.
